Day One

Welcome to my spot. There are about 5 weeks (approximately) until the 2008/09 basketball season begins....well, atleast for the Delbrook Steve Nash Basketball League. But I don't have to wait that long to Coach, as I am running the Basketball Camp at the NS N'hood house in August. That's going to be cool.

But like the title says-"Adventures of a Basketball Coach", this is a blog about me, a basketball coach and my adventures in life. Now, those of you who know me, know that Basketball is pretty much my life. However, I do do other things, to keep a balance in my life-or atleast attempt to.

Take for instance, this is the end of July, which for the moment in my world, is considered the basketball "off-season". And so I must keep myself amused in the off-season, not such an easy task for someone with a high-energy level like mine. So for the past couple of seasons I have been keeping myself busy with volunteering-one of my other passions. I am currently volunteering at TUTS (Theatre Under the Stars) at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. At TUTS I "work" in the Coffee Bar, selling Tea, Coffee and Hot Chocolate before the show and during intermission. If you need to kill some time this summer, I highly recommend volunteering at TUTS. You'll meet a lot of fantastic people and learn alot, if you take the initiative.

But most importantly I just returned home from New Orleans a week ago. In the summer I take a group of volunteers down to New Orleans to volunteer in the rebuilding efforts-Post Hurricane Katrina. Outside of coaching....this is the coolest thing I do. But at the moment I am tired and I am going to leave it until tomorrow to go into detail about the amazing week I had in N'Awlins....
